Public Education & Outreach Coordinator

The team at the Archaeological Research Institute is in search of a Public Education and Outreach Coordinator. We are in search of a team member that is passionate about our organization’s mission and vision of getting the public informed and involved in archaeology, and specifically local archaeology. We are looking for someone that is a self-starter, creative, self-motivated, flexible, empathetic, energized, enjoys teamwork, adaptable, has great communication skills, collaborative, organized, can problem-solve, and is excited to learn more. We are willing to train or find opportunities for continued education for the right person. We would like this position to start off as a part-time position with potential for full-time employment in the future.

Archaeology Internship

The Archaeology Intern is an entry level position designed to provide valuable experience in the field of archaeology. This will include participating in field survey and excavation, lab work, and public interaction/education in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Interns will work closely with the ARI staff, receiving an interactive learning experience and on-the-job training.

Non-Profit Operations Internship

The Non-profit Operations Intern aids in all aspects of ARI’s administrative activities and will gain insight into the broad range of tasks that support the management of a small non-profit organization. The Intern will assist in activities related to program management, volunteer management, fundraising and grant writing, community engagement, data entry and reporting, program creation, program evaluation and marketing. The Intern will also have the opportunity to join the executive director at community meetings and events to learn more about coordinated community engagement and local resources.

Social Entrepreneur Internship

Our mission is to educate the community about our local prehistoric past through hands-on public archaeology. Understanding and experiencing archaeology is an important aspect of the internships, so be prepared to get dirty along with creating marketing plans, developing fundraising strategies, and setting up important ARI organization operations! We have laid the foundation for ARI, Inc, and now we need excited interns to help us bring our mission and programming to the public!
