Overview of Supervisor Expectations
Member Performance Evaluation
Member Performance Evaluation: Mid-term & End-of-Term
1. The mid or end term evaluation form will be sent to supervisors via AdobeSign
2. Supervisors must complete the evaluation and schedule a meeting with each member individually to discuss them
3. Members must sign the evaluation after their supervisor – it will be sent via AdobeSign
4. The evaluations will be saved under each member’s file
Site supervisors play a crucial role in fostering a member’s professional and personal development. As a manager and mentor, supervisors have the ability to observe performance and provide feedback regarding what the member does well, what skills are needed to develop further, and what future career/educational paths the member might want to explore.

Prohibited Activities
It is very important that you DO NOT allow members to participate in prohibited activities while acting as an AmeriCorps member and charging AmeriCorps hours. Essentially there are three main areas of prohibited activities.
AmeriCorps members may not engage in the following activities:
- Attempting to influence legislation through organizing or engaging in protests, petitions, boycotts or strikes
- Providing abortion services or referrals for receipt of such services
- Engaging in religious instruction, conducting worship services, or providing instruction as part of a program that includes mandatory religious instruction or worship
Individuals may exercise their rights as private citizens and may participate in the activities listed above on their own initiative, during non-AmeriCorps time. Individuals should not wear the AmeriCorps logo while engaged in prohibited activities in their own time.

Approving Member Timesheets
Site supervisors are responsible for verifying the accuracy of and approving a member’s timesheets. The member’s timesheet is important for the following reasons:
- Timesheets help program staff monitor a member’s service hours and ensure the member is on track to complete the number of service hours necessary to receive an educational award (you will receive reports if problems arise)
- Timesheets provide an accurate record of service when AmeriCorps, the agency, makes an appeal to Congress for refunding
- Timesheets provide an accurate record of service in the event of a federal or state audit
Reminders:
A maximum of 20% of total service hours can be spent on training and/or education. AmeriCorps members’ service hours may not include hours that fulfill the needs of another employee that is out on leave or to replace a paid staff member.
AmeriCorps hours are entered and tracked through OnCorps. All members and site supervisors will register for this system.
