Pumpkin S.T.E.M – Gear up with ARI for some pumpkin launching Fun!
What’s in your backyard? Travel with us to discover the history and archaeology of the Lawrenceburg area. Visit local archaeological sites with an ARI Interpreter, gain a detailed understanding of the many stories that make up the past of the area around Lawrenceburg, and get a personalized experience based on your knowledge, interests, and questions. Visitors are encouraged to wear hiking clothes and boots.
Location:
Meet at the Archaeological Research Institute Learning Center. Visitors will be driven to tour locations by an ARI Interpreter and returned to the Learning Center at the end of the tour.

Our regional tour takes visitors for an adventure with an ARI Interpreter to significant archaeological sites in Ohio that are important to the story of the past 2,000 years. The first stop is at Fort Ancient, the Hopewell earthworks near Lebanon, Ohio. Your Interpreter will guide you through the museum and earthworks, building upon the history of the Guard Site and its relationship to the archaeology beyond the Cincinnati area. The second stop is Sunwatch, a reconstructed Fort Ancient village in Dayton, Ohio. Discover the later history of the Fort Ancient period and learn about the movement of peoples out from the Ohio River 1,000 years ago. Visitors are encouraged to wear sunscreen, hiking clothes, and boots.
