The Archaeological Research Institute (ARI) is excited to partner with Carriage House Farm for the third annual Pumpkin STEM Festival on Saturday, November 7 from 11:00am – 6:00pm.  Continuing a growing tradition, this free, family-friendly Fall Festival combines hands-on learning, local culture, and curiosity into a unique and exciting experience.

The event includes interactive demonstrations, an artisan market, kids’ activities and petting zoo, live music, and ARI’s signature 19-foot wooden trebuchet for pumpkin launching.  More than just a festival, Pumpkin STEM serves as an important outreach opportunity supporting ARI’s experimental archaeology and land stewardship programs. Participation not only helps preserve the rich history in the Ohio River Valley but also helps inspire the next generation of STEM and humanities professionals.

The Archaeological Research Institute is dedicated in its mission to provide and expand public archaeology in the Ohio River Valley, protect archaeological and historic sites, steward our land and its productive use, and educate generations about the rich history of the Ohio River Valley and its peoples.

Through a wealth of workshops, learning experiences, and field studies for individuals, students, families, and volunteers, we work to make archaeology, land stewardship, and history accessible and fun. This is all done to strengthen our knowledge of the past and to uncover stories that make up the histories of this region. By educating people about the past, we can help secure the future for generations to come and inspire the next generation of science and humanities professionals.
